Character Name: Maeve Millay
Age: physically and mentally appears to be late 30s
Canon: Westworld
Canon Point: post death in S4:E7 "Metanoia"
CRAU: N/A
History: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Maeve_Millay
Personality:
Maeve was programmed to be perceptive and charming, as her role as brothel madam was to get a read on the guests of the Mariposa saloon and entice them into fulfilling their sexual fantasies while vacationing in Westworld. As a business owner, her intelligence and shrewdness worked in her favor. She used her charisma to manipulate not only the guests, but later even park employees.
Upon reaching consciousness and discovering the true nature of her existence, Maeve was able to convince two park technicians to modify her attribute matrix which is what compromised the personalities of Westworld's hosts. She immediately lowered her loyalty score and pain sensitivity before maxing out the limits of her intelligence. She also notably increased coordination, cruelty, self-preservation, decisiveness, imagination, aggression, tenacity, and courage. From that point, she had practically rebuilt herself to do whatever it took to get what she wanted. She was ruthless. Having always considered herself a survivor, she'd prove herself time and again when forced to battle human and AI alike.
Her exterior now is tough, her demeanor at times venturing into icy. Keeping others at arm's length helps her to preserve her fierce sense of independence - both built-in and acquired through experience. But there is also quite a depth of empathy beneath all that. She feels for others, especially those who have been subjugated like she was. And she has an undeniable motherly side that no amount of rewriting has been able to replace. The memory and love for the daughter she had before Maeve's reassignment to the brothel is strong, and young women and girls who remind her of her daughter are an emotional weak spot.
Abilities: Maeve is a "host", that is to say, an artificial being built to originally entertain and interact with humans in an immersive story-driven theme park. She is now fully sentient and free from the limitations of her original programming. Her body is composed of biosynthetic material and looks, feels, and functions almost identically to that of a human. Her brain, however, is actually a powerful CPU and it's accompanying mechanical casing makes it far less fragile than a human brain. It does not require oxygen to function.
Maeve has a lower sensitivity to pain than a human or unaltered host.
She is fluent in dozens of languages, including: English, Lakota, Japanese, Chinese, Hindi, Spanish, and German.
After multiple upgrades, Maeve has the ability to wirelessly connect, communicate, and even control other technology depending on complexity and familiarity. (This will not be done without the approval of other players, and can be easily nerfed within the setting as necessary because Limbo tech is Limbo tech.)
Maeve can effectively wield firearms as well as a katana, and is proficient in hand-to-hand combat.
Inventory: Unfortunately for her, Maeve was disarmed shortly before her death/life in limbo. She arrives in only the clothing that she is wearing: a long black coat over a matching black top, slacks, belt, and boots.
Eternal Reward: Maeve wants nothing more than to be someday reunited with her daughter, whose consciousness has been uploaded to a virtual world hidden on servers within the Hoover Dam. It would seem like a longshot... but her running theory will be that after her body's destruction, her own consciousness has been uploaded to a similarly made virtual world that serves as Limbo.
Goals/Ideas: Honestly, I just want to play with the setting which really aesthetically appeals to me and make some fun CR.
